Martin Scorsese, the director of “Gangs of New York” and “The Departed,” is the last person I’d expect to make a children’s film in 3D but his latest, opening November 23rd, is just that. “Hugo” has two kids at the forefront, Asa Butterfield and Chloe Grace Moretz. Adult supporting roles include Jude Law, Emily Mortimer, Ben Kingsley, Ray Winstone and Sacha Baron Cohen as the Station Inspector. Viewing the trailer does not provide any glimpse as to how the 3D will look, but Scorsese is a filmmaker fastidious enough to hopefully correct the low wattage diffusion problem associated with most 3D movies.
